He is currently the Academic Director of Executive Education and an adjunct professor at the Columbia Business School at Columbia University. He served as a Professor of Management at the University from 2006 to 2014. He spent 25 years as an executive officer at The College of New Jersey, formerly Trenton State College, in the positions of Vice President of Student Life, Dean of Students, Director of Group Student Development Services (student activities, student center and housing), and the Director of Housing. Dr. Klepper began his educational career in 1967 as an Assistant Dean of Men at the University of South Carolina followed by an Associate Dean of Students at St. Louis University in 1969.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Klepper was educated at Saint Louis University (SLU), first earning a Bachelor of Science in 1966. He then completed his post-graduate coursework and obtained a Master of Education in 1967 followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in 1975. It was during his time at the university that Dr. Klepper met his wife, Susan, during their first year. Married shortly after graduating, they chose to stay close to Saint Louis University while Dr. Klepper completed his post-graduate degrees, studying under Trafford P. Maher, SJ. They now live in Ewing Township, New Jersey while teaching at Columbia University, but retain close ties and relationships with their alma mater, actively serving on the SLU National Alumni Board. In his local community, Dr. Klepper has served as President of the School Board, Mayor of the Township and President of the County Legislature. Dr. Klepper received a Humanitarian Award from Mercer County Friends of the Handicapped.
A published author, Dr. Klepper's latest book is The CEO's Boss: Tough Love in the Boardroom, 2nd Edition, Columbia University Publishing, January 2019. His most recent business case studies and articles include "Volunteering for Conflict?" "Wells Fargo and Company: Corporate Governance Crisis," "Getting Down to the Business of Leadership," and "Wounded Warrior Project in 2016." He has been featured in Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in Business Education. He was inducted into the Lima Central Catholic Hall of Fame for professional achievement and received Saint Louis University's College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Merit Award.
