Additionally, Mr. Brandt was an adjunct professor at the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, where he taught commercial and secured transactions. Prior to law school, he served as a captain in the United States Army.
In the mid-1960s, Mr. Brandt earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University. Subsequently, he returned to his alma mater, obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence, with distinction, in 1972 and served as an editor of the Cornell Law Review. Upon graduating, he was admitted to practice law by the Supreme Courts of Hawaii and California, the United States District Courts for the Districts of Hawaii and Northern California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Over the years, he has maintained his affiliation with a number of organizations, including the State Bar of California, the Hawaii State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
