Aparna Aravelli Celebrates Professional Excellence in Mechanical Engineering

Dr. Aravelli published a book called "Real-Time Measurement of Oxides of Nitrogen from Heavy-Duty Diesel Engines"



Dr. Aravelli serves as a Research Specialist and a Faculty at Florida International University.

    MIAMI, FL, September 23, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Aparna Aravelli has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Supported by many years of practiced experience, Dr. Aravelli serves as a Research Specialist and a Faculty at Florida International University, where she specializes in mechanical engineering research and teaches in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. Her research experience spans wide topics such as engines and emissions, design and optimization of engineering systems, sensors and robotics for nuclear and power plant inspections. In her work at Florida International University's Applied Research Center, she is involved with the U.S. Department of Energy's research projects regarding high level nuclear waste management, addressing issues related to pipeline and tank integrity along with development of robotic exoskeleton devices for use in gloveboxes across the world. Utilizing her extensive knowledge, Dr. Aravelli has contributed to a number of peer-reviewed articles in professional journals and has also published a book, titled "Real-Time Measurement of Oxides of Nitrogen from Heavy-Duty Diesel Engines."

An expert in her field, Dr. Aravelli initially pursued an education at Andhra University (India), earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. She continued her studies with a Master of Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University. She concluded her academic efforts at the University of Miami, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy. Having taken a break between her final degrees in order to raise a family, Dr. Aravelli cites the acquisition of her Doctor of Philosophy to be her proudest accomplishment to date.

In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Aravelli is affiliated with the Society of Women Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. During her spare time, she contributes to the less fortunate through Calnillus House and Saint Jude Children's Cancer Society. Looking toward the future, Dr. Aravelli intends to become a principal scientist and obtain tenure.
