Dr. Allan Sinning Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Medicine and Medical Education

Dr. Sinning excels in numerous positions with the University of Mississippi Medical Center



    JACKSON, MS, September 24, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Allan Sinning has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Intrigued by the field of human development from a young age, Dr. Sinning began his career in the field as a postdoctoral fellow with the Medical College of Wisconsin from 1985 until 1990. Subsequently, he found success at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he served as an assistant professor and an associate professor in the 1990s and 2000s. Today, he excels as the director of the Body Donation Program and a professor of medical gross anatomy and clinical anatomy with the University of Mississippi Medical Center. While in pursuit of his Bachelor of Science in zoology and animal biology at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Dr. Sinning attended a course in comparative anatomy and became even more intrigued in the field of human development. Subsequently, he continued his studies at the University of North Dakota, earning a Master of Science in 1983 as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in anatomy in 1985. Dr. Sinning retains his professional alignment with the American Association of Anatomy in order to remain up-to-date on the latest news in the field.

With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Sinning authored a chapter in "Molecular Biology of the Cardiovascular System" in 1990. He additionally contributed his research to numerous articles, including "Antisense approaches for elucidating ranavirus gene function in an infected fish cell line," "Retinoic acid administration is associated with changes in the extracellular matrix and cardiac mesenchyme within the endocardial cushion" and "Role of vitamin A in the formation of congenital heart defects." For his exemplary professional accomplishments, Dr. Sinning accepted the Hamre fellowship from the department of anatomy at the University of North Dakota in 1984 and a postdoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association in 1986.
