He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1967 from the University of Michigan and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1968.
From 1968 to 1974, Mr. Brackett was an associate at the firm Rogers & Wells in New York City. He became a partner in 1974, serving through 1991, and was the supervising partner from 1984 to 1985 and subsequently a member of the firm's executive and strategic planning committees.
Mr. Brackett is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Phi Beta Kappa, and Pi Gamma Mu honorary fraternities. As a testament to his success, he has been highlighted in numerous editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. In his personal time, he is an outdoorsman with an interest in high-altitude hiking and backpacking.
