Dr. Lonnie Harrison Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Cardiology

Dr. Harrison specializes in interventional cardiology through his work with Harrison Heart, Vein & Vascular Center, Saline Memorial Hospital and Arkansas Amputation Prevention Center



Due to his outstanding work in the field, Dr. Lonnie Harrison was recognized as the Analytical Chemist of the Year through the University of Arkansas System.

    BENTON, AR, September 27, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lonnie Harrison has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After watching his father struggle with heart problems, Dr. Harrison was inspired to pursue a career in cardiology. Today, he excels as the founder and the chief executive officer of Harrison Heart, Vein & Vascular Center. Likewise, Dr. Harrison remains active as an interventional cardiologist with Saline Memorial Hospital and the medical director of Arkansas Amputation Prevention Center.

Backed by substantial expertise in venous ablation for chronic venous insufficiency, laser venous ablation, removal of varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis and arterial vascular surgery, Dr. Harrison pioneered the Arkansas Amputation Prevention Center, which aims to perform surgery that prevents patients from losing limbs. Over the years, he has trained more than 100 cardiologists, vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists in performing the complex approach to open vessels below the knee under ultrasound. Earlier in his career, Dr. Harrison gained valuable expertise in the field as a physician with Arkansas Heart Hospital as well as the co-founder and the co-director of Arkansas Heart Hospital Cardiac and Vascular Stem Cell Program.

Certified in vascular intervention of veins and arteries, Dr. Harrison earned a Bachelor of Arts in theology from Central Bible College and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In order to stay aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the American College of Phlebology, the International Society for Endovascular Specialists, the Society for Vascular Medicine and the International Society for Stem Cell Research. Dedicated to those less fortunate, Dr. Harrison also sponsors children through Compassionate International and volunteers at his local church.

With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Harrison has published several research papers in major medical journals and served as a lecturer at national and international conferences. Due to his outstanding work in the field, he was recognized as the Analytical Chemist of the Year through the University of Arkansas System.
