An accomplished listee, Ms. Aldave celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Aldave is a retired lawyer and an educator with more than 45 years of experience in her field. She attended Stanford University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in 1960, and earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of California Berkeley in 1966. Ms. Aldave was admitted to practice law by the Oregon State Bar in 1966, and by the State Bar of Texas in 1982.

From 1967 until 1970, Ms. Aldave was an associate at a law firm in Eugene. She began her academic career in 1970 as an assistant professor at the University of Oregon in 1970, and a visiting professor at the University of California Berkeley from 1973 to 1974. Between 1974 and 1989, Ms. Aldave served as a professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Her accomplishments at the University of Texas include being named as a James R. Dougherty co-chair for faculty excellence from 1981 to 1982, a Piper professor in 1982, and a Joe A. Worsham centennial professor from 1984 until 1989.

From 1989 to 1998, Ms. Aldave excelled as a professor and the dean of the School of Law at St. Mary's University of San Antonio. She subsequently continued her career as a visiting professor at Boston College from 1999 until 2000. Ms. Aldave joined the University of Oregon in 2000, for which she would find success as a professor and the director of the Center for Law and Entrepreneurship until 2013.

Ms. Aldave was the chairperson of the Gender Bias Task Force of the Supreme Court of Texas between 1991 and 1994, a member of the board of directors of the Texas Alliance for Children's Rights from 2012-2013, and has been president of the Portia Project since 2003. Due to her outstanding accomplishments in the field, she has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work on legal issues affecting women and for her teaching, including a 2009 Frohnmayer Public Service Award from the University of Oregon. In order to remain aware of developments in the field, Ms. Aldave is a member of the American Bar Association, where she has chaired committees on business and corporate law, Latin American law initiatives, and corporate social responsibility.
