Mr. O'Bryon is the president of O'Bryon & Company in Bethesda, MD, a multiple association management business he established in 1990. He began his career working as a United States Congress staff member between 1972 and 1979. A former executive vice president of the Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute in both Washington and Chicago, he also served as vice president of the Association & Society Management International in Falls Church, VA, and the American Chiropractic Association in Arlington, VA.
Initially involved in politics, Mr. O'Bryon was mentored by Senator Charles Mathias of Maryland. He worked for U.S. Representative Gilbert Gude from the Eighth District of Maryland and ran the office as well as numerous campaigns. He also worked for Mr. Gude's successor, Hon. Newton Steers. Mr. O'Bryon enjoyed the opportunity to work for some of the finest members of Congress at such a young age and still believes that public service is a high calling.
A longtime senior consultant for the Association & Society Management International since 1990, Mr. O'Bryon has also been the president and former executive director of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges in Bethesda since 1996. He formerly served as executive director of the Retirement Industry Trust Association in Bethesda from 1995 to 2000.
Mr. O'Bryon is a longstanding certified member (CAE) of the American Society of Association Executives. Locally involved, he is a founding member and former chair of the Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health. He is also serving in several capacities including the board's executive committee of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and is a board member and former chair of the Federation of Associations of Schools of the Allied Health Professions.
Honored in 2006 with a Presidential Recognition Award from the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards and a 2002 Humanitarian of the Year Award from the American Chiropractic Association and again a Special Award of Honor in 2016, Mr. O'Bryon has notably been cited in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in Finance and Industry. He has held a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College since 1972 and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Potomac School of Law since 1980 and was later honored with an honorary Doctor of Laws from Logan University in 2001. Married to Margaret Elisabeth Keller since 1975, Mr. O'Bryon has two children.
