Prior to that post, he excelled as the president of the LATAM office of Kallman Worldwide, Inc. in 2011 until 2017. From 2011 to 2013, General Ortega Perrier was a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Santiago and he was also member of the board of directors for CODELCO -the largest copper producer in the world- from 2002-2006.
Prior to completing his professional accomplishments, General Ortega Perrier pursued an education at the Air War College of the Chilean Air Force and graduated as staff Officer. He attended RAF Bracknell in the UK and earned de PSC award. General Ortega Perrier was deployed to the Middle East as an observer of the UN in the UNTSO post during 1983 during the war in Lebanon. He earns a Master of Arts in Political Science in the Universidad de Chile. He completed additional coursework at the Universidad Gabriela Mistral and earned a Master of Business Administration in 1971, in international Business. He is also graduated from the International Relations Course of the Universidad de Chile. Moreover, General Ortega Perrier is a certified aeronautical system engineer.
He is the President of the Retired Generals and Admirals of the defense Association; General Ortega Perrier was a Major General and a commander in chief in the Chile Air Force from 2006 to 2010. Notably, he has been honored with a Decorated Legion of Merit in the Grade of Commander from the governments of the United States, he was awarded also by the governments of Brazil, Spain, France, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Argentina, and Colombia. As the highlight that stood out the most, he was recognized for his involvement in the purchasing of new equipment from the United States and revitalizing the Chilean Air Force.
