Due to her efforts in the field, she has been presented with a Top 40 Dentists Under 40 Award by Incisal Edge Magazine in 2018.
SAN DIEGO, CA, October 02, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Malieka Johnson has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Supported by many years of practiced experience in dentistry, Dr. Johnson excels as a general and adult special needs dentist and health coach with The Boss With The Floss. Although she had not intended to work solely with special needs patients, she received an opportunity to pursue a residency working in this capacity; as she says, the special needs community chose her. Before establishing her own practice, she gained valuable expertise in the field working as an associate dentist in multiple private practices and as a special needs dentist with King Chavez Health Center of San Ysidro Health. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of her many humanitarian works and accepting the Charles and Cora Ash scholarship from the University of California San Diego in 2002 and 2003, the dean's academic scholarship from the UCLA School of Dentistry between 2007 and 2011 and the underrepresented minority scholarship from the Angel City Dental Society in 2010.
In the early 2000s, Dr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of California San Diego. Subsequently, she graduated with a DDS at the University of California Los Angeles before completing a general practice residency at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. She retains her professional alignment with the San Diego County Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the Christian Medical Dental Association. During her spare time, she contributes to her community as a volunteer with her local church, a board member of the San Diego County Dental Foundation, the San Diego County Dental Society and San Diego Mesa College Dental Assisting Advisory Committee. She is the founder of a non-profit organization, The H.E.R.O. Project, also known as The Humanitarian & Educational Relief Operation Project.
Utilizing her considerable expertise and creativity, Dr. Johnson authored "The Rx for L.I.F.E." in June 2019 and recorded her song single titled "Disappear" to be released later this year. Due to her efforts in the field, she has been presented with a Top 40 Dentists Under 40 Award by Incisal Edge Magazine in 2018 and fellowships through the Pierre Fauchard Academy in 2018, the San Diego Leadership Alliance in 2016 and the American Dental Association's Institute for Diversity and Leadership in 2015, and multiple awards for Outstanding Customer Service through the San Ysidro Health. Looking toward the future, Dr. Johnson intends to continue creating positive ways to encourage the souls of her community and continue serving as many special needs clients as possible.
