Dr. Reinleitner is a psychologist with more than 50 years of distinguished expertise working with patients, consulting, teaching and lecturing. She attended Barnard College, graduating in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors, and continued her education at Columbia University, obtaining a Master of Arts in 1968. She taught history and later, psychology at the University of Washington, where one of her strengths was her effective rapport with students, thus enabling her to help connect a suicidal student with support within the university. The clinical psychology department was so impressed by Dr. Reinleitner's ability to help the student that they eventually convinced her to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Washington in 1974.
After completing an internship at the Astor Home for Children in Reinbeck, New York, Dr. Reinleitner became a psychologist at the Children's Hospital of Seattle between 1974 and 1983. She has been in private practice serving the communities of Mercer Island, Bellevue, Bainbridge Island, and Redmond since 1976. In 1988, Dr. Reinleitner became an administrator of the Mindlin Foundation, an educational nonprofit, which has awarded more than $1million in grants to tax-exempt educational facilities.
Dr. Reinleitner has contributed to professional journals and has been a speaker at the International College of Prescribing Psychologists Annual Meetings. She is a member of the Prescribing Psychologists Register, where she has served on the curriculum committee since 1996. Moreover, she is a diplomate of the Board of Advance Practice Psychologists, the American Board of Psychopharmacology and Forensic Psychology, and the International College of Psychopharmacology. She received an award from the UCSD for funding their Mobile Dental Clinic, which provides services in neighborhoods that are under served for dental services as well as training opportunities for dental students. Although her career is filled with stories of patient success, Dr. Reinleitner considers her six children to be her greatest accomplishment.
