A. Lois Worlds led a successful career as an educator and a police officer for nearly 30 years.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL, October 09, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present A. Lois Worlds with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Worlds celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Now retired, Ms. Worlds led a successful career as an educator and a police officer for nearly 30 years. Prior to embarking upon her professional path, she pursued a formal education at Albany State University in Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1972. Soon thereafter, she completed postgraduate coursework in public administration, from the University of South Florida. Moreover, Ms. Worlds graduated from the 13th Command Officer's Development Course at the Southern Police Institute in Louisville, Kentucky.

A certified teacher in the state of Georgia, Ms. Worlds began her career as a teacher for Terrell County High School in Dawson, Georgia, between 1972 and 1973. Two years later, she accepted a post with the St. Petersburg Police Department as an officer, further progressing to a training officer of the patrol bureau from 1978 to 1980. As she advanced with the aforementioned police department, she found success as a burglary detective, a sergeant of the patrol bureau, a detective sergeant of the internal affairs, and a lieutenant from 1985 to 1988. Moreover, Ms. Worlds worked as a District Commander and Major for the Patrol and Investigative Commanders respectively. She served as Assistant to the Chief from 1997 to 1999. Additionally, she served as Assistant Chief of the Administrative Bureau until her retirement in 2001.

For Ms. Worlds, the highlight of her career was receiving the Ned March Award in 1980. This achievement was significant because her mother was able to share that moment with her. Sponsored by The Rotary Club of the St. Petersburg Police Department since 1952, the Ted March Award is presented each year to a police officer or sergeant who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments during their career. She is also proud to have been the first female to have received this honor. In addition to her primary endeavors, Ms. Worlds has contributed her wealth of knowledge to Expert Information Review in St. Petersburg, Florida, since 1987.

In an effort to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Worlds maintains her affiliation with the International Association of Women Police. In the past, she served as a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives for seven years. In retirement, Ms. Worlds enjoys reading, bible study, gospel music, and exercising at the gym during her spare time.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Ms. Worlds has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
