Dr. Robert Richard Rounsley retired in 1996 after more than 35 years as a research fellow with the Mead Corporation.

Leading an impressive career as a chemical engineer and educator for many years, Dr. Rounsley retired in 1996 after more than 35 years as a research fellow with the Mead Corporation. Located in Chillicothe, it is an integrated pulp and paper mill that produces coated and uncoated paper, carbonless paper and paper for greeting cards, among other products. Dr. Rounsley was previously an associate at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, and an instructor at Iowa State University in Ames and Ohio University in Chillicothe.

An alumnus of Michigan Technological in Houghton, Dr. Rounsley received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1952 and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1954. He soon after acquired a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering at Iowa State University in 1957. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Ohio. Dr. Rounsley holds several patents in his field. Throughout his career, he has disseminated many of his research findings by authoring numerous journal articles, as well as approximately a dozen papers on heat transfer.

Dr. Rounsley is a member and past president of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers' central Ohio section. He also served on several committees for the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry and the Institute of Paper Science and Technology, is a senior member of the Society for Computer Simulation and a member of the American Chemical Society. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Rounsley has been featured in the 24th and 25th editions of Who's Who in the Midwest.
