Due to his mother's involvement in politics, Mr. Fina encountered many politicians and lawyers that inspired him to pursue a career in law. With the knowledge that he eventually wanted to establish a private practice, he chose to focus on an area of law that could lead in that direction, inspiring him to become a personal injury attorney. Since 2009, Mr. Fina has excelled as the owner of the eponymous Law Offices of Paul J. Fina, where he represents clients in various personal injury cases involving nursing home abuse, product liability, automobile and motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice and wrongful death, workers' compensation, and pedestrian, bicycle and dog bite accidents. Additionally, he has taught economics and business law at the College of DuPage since 1986.
Prior to founding his firm, Mr. Fina gained valuable expertise as a partner with the Law Offices of Fina & Huner between 2001 and 2009 and the Fina Law Offices from 1994 until 2001. He began his career as an associate for Haskin, Taylor & McDonough and Komessar & Wintroub. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he also contributed his considerable expertise as faculty in the business department at Aurora University. He remains aware of industry changes and continues to network with others in the field through his affiliations with the DuPage County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Academy of Jurisprudence and the American Law Society. Since 1991, Mr. Fina has also dedicated himself to his community as general counsel for Housing Helpers, Inc.
In the early 1980s, Mr. Fina completed a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Subsequently, he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence at DePaul University in 1987 and a Master of Laws in international business and trade law at the University of Illinois in 2006. Upon graduating from law school, he was admitted to practice through the Illinois State Bar Association, as well as numerous federal courts, such as the United States Court of International Trade, the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Mr. Fina has been celebrated for his exemplary efforts in law on many occasions. In addition to being honored as a Top 100 Lawyer, he was presented with a Congressional Distinction Medal from the International Biographical Association. Selected for inclusion in the International Lawyers Hall of Fame and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, he has been recognized as a fellow of the Elite Lawyers of America, LLC. Since 2013, he has also been lauded as a Super Lawyer.
