Paul Alan Corbin has excelled as a pilot for Delta Air Lines in Minneapolis since 1985.

Supported by more than four decades of professional experience, Mr. Corbin has excelled as a pilot for Delta Air Lines in Minneapolis since 1985. He has been an airline captain for 24 of those years. Prior to this appointment, he worked as a design engineer for NCR, Inc. in Wichita, Kansas, in 1979, having previously contributed as a cooperative engineer for Honeywell, Inc. in Minneapolis, for 2 years. In addition to his primary endeavors, he found success as the president of Advantage 3000, Inc., as well as a managing member of Bank Props, LLC, MCPC Land Holdings, LLC, Corpark 5 LLC and Corpark 4 LLC. From 2003 to 2018, Mr. Corbin held the position of a Federal Flight Deck Officer.

Prior to the beginning of his career, Mr. Corbin pursued a formal education at Iowa State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with distinction, in 1979. Upon completion of his academic efforts and work at both Honeywell and NCR, Mr. Corbin entered the United States Air Force, where he served as an officer from 1979 until his honorable discharge in 1986 and attained the rank of Captain. While in the Air Force he was an Aircraft Commander on the RC-135 and the T-38 and was awarded, among other military decorations, The USAF Air Medal with eight oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal. Over the course of his civilian flying career, Mr. Corbin became certified to operate many aircraft including the A330, A320/319, B767, B757, B747, B727, B720, B707, DC9, and CE-500.

For Mr. Corbin, the highlights of his career include attaining his USAF pilot wings and his airline transport pilot rating. Notably, he earned the U.S. President's Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteer Service to the Nation due to his volunteer status as an active duty Air Force officer for six years, an inactive reserve officer for 9 years and his 15 year tenure as a Federal Flight Deck Officer. Likewise he recalls being able to witness his application to become an astronaut for NASA get accepted among 18,000 qualified applicants. Although he was not selected for the program, Mr. Corbin was gratified to have his application accepted from such a highly competitive group.

An active figure in the community, Mr. Corbin had maintained his involvement as the chairman of the Underprivileged Children's Christmas Project in Omaha, Nebraska, during 1984. To remain aware of developments in the field, he maintains a professional affiliation with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). Outside of work, Mr. Corbin enjoys golfing, bicycling, tennis, locksmithing, fishing and spoiling grandchildren in his spare time.
