PakSense Inc. whose parent company is the Emerson Electric Co., develops intelligent sensing products for the temperature monitoring of perishable goods and environmental monitoring solutions.
Leading a successful career in upper level management for many years, Mr. Oster is a former co-owner of Somerset CPAs Health Advisory and has been a Health Care Consultant specializing in turnarounds of struggling hospitals and medical groups. He was also the Executive Director of the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group in Idaho. Mr. Oster was a Vice President of Operations and Mergers and Acquisitions for MedPartners/Mullikin Inc. of California. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of West County Medical Group in California. Additionally, Mr. Oster lent his expertise in investment banking to Integrated Resources Inc. of California and real estate investment and construction in the Western United States.
A top-ranking JROTC cadet during high school, Mr. Oster won a full 4-year college scholarship from the U.S. Army. Upon graduation from the University of Colorado – Boulder in 1977, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. He served 10 years active duty before going on reserve duty. During those 10 years, he was a worldwide logistics deployment supervisor and project manager of worldwide logistics automation. Branching into the Army Transportation Corps, Mr. Oster also had the good fortune to be selected for computer schooling. While continuing his service in the Army Reserves, he became involved in investment banking, became a licensed stockbroker and then followed his passion in the medical field as the Chief Executive Officer of the West County Medical Group, while doing real estate investment on the side. He notably served in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1999.
An alumnus of the University of Colorado, Mr. Oster received a Bachelor of Arts in 1977. He received a Master of Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, from National University of San Diego and was named valedictorian of his class in 1986. Mr. Oster is married to Sharon E. Oster, M.D. and has a daughter, Stephanie Lynn. He wishes to express his appreciation to them for their patience and understanding during his many family separations during his time in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Oster is a member of The American Legion. The recipient of several recognitions for his time in the U.S. Army, he was twice awarded the Department of Defense Meritorious Service Award, twice awarded the Department of the Army Meritorious Service Award and was honored as the U.S. Army Military Transportation Management Command Junior Officer of the Year in 1985. In his current field, Mr. Oster received a Presidential Citation Award for PakSense's outstanding contributions to the Export Expansion Program of the United States. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Oster has been featured in the 27th edition of Who's Who in the West.
