With in excess of 50 years of experience in the practice of law to his credit, Ward E. Terry Jr. retired from the practice in June 2019, having been a solo practitioner from 2007 to 2019. From 2002 to 2007, he was a shareholder in the firm of Krys Boyle PC, which specialized primarily in the securities and corporate finance area of the practice of law. Previously, from 1997 to 2002, he was a shareholder and director with Clanahan Tanner Downing and Knowlton PC. From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Terry was with the firm of Terry Syke and Graham PC, where he was an officer and a director. From 1976 to 1996, he practiced tax, securities and corporate finance law with and held positions in Hopper and Kanouff PC as vice president, a member of the board of directors and a shareholder. He served as the secretary and a director of Ward Terry and Co. from 1972 to 1976. Mr. Terry began his career as an associate of McMartin & Burk from 1968 to 1970, Modesitt & Shaw from 1970 to 1971, and Gorsuch, Kirgis, Campbell, Walker & Grover from 1971 to 1972.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Terry pursued an education at the University of Colorado, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1965. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1968, also at the University of Colorado. He concluded his studies at the University of Denver in 1976, graduating with a Master of Laws in taxation. In addition to these accomplishments, Mr. Terry was admitted to practice law by the Colorado Bar in 1968, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado in 1968, and the U.S. Tax Court in 1980.

Beyond his responsibilities in the fields of taxation, securities and corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning and estate administration, Mr. Terry has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He served as an elder in the Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church from 1999 through 2001 and continues as an active member of that church. From 1984 to 1996, he was a general partner of PSW Investments Ltd., a family business located in Denver, Colorado. He held the role of the campaign chair for the Roseanne Ball Election Committee in 1974. Mr. Terry served as a trustee for the Denver Country Day School from 1969 to 1970.

Furthermore, during his more than 50 years of service in the legal profession, Mr. Terry has affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. Throughout these years, he has maintained his involvement with the American Bar Association as a member of the business law section, the real estate and probate section, the taxation section and, during many of those years, the antitrust section. He was also active with the Gyro Club of Denver, holding the posts of the membership chairman from 1991 to 1992, the vice president from 1993 to 1994, and the president from 1994 to 1995. Moreover, Mr. Terry was a member of the Denver Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and the business law, taxation, and estate and trust sections of the Colorado Bar. In April of 2018, he was honored in recognition of his 50 years of service as a member of the Denver Bar Association.

Mr. Terry was selected for inclusion in the 25th edition of Who's Who in the West as well as multiple editions of Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in America. Looking toward the future, he intends to enjoy his retirement with his wife of 52 years, Julie, while looking back on a career which he would like to regard as a legacy of a responsible, reliable, transparent practitioner who exuded honesty, integrity and fair dealings. In addition to continuing to pursue his interest in such activities as running, weight training and golf, Mr. Terry plans to devote a significant portion of his retirement time to reading about the many facets of American history and the personalities that shaped American history.
