Dr. In-Seok Park Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Maritime Education

Dr. Park channels years of experience in marine biology and fisheries science into his work with Korea Maritime & Ocean University



With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. In-Seok Park has authored a number of books and articles

    BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA, October 22, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. In-Seok Park has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After serving as a sergeant in the South Korean Army between 1978 and 1981, Dr. Park began working as a research assistant with Hanyang University. Subsequently, he found success as a senior research scientist at the Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute from 1987 to 1994. During the 1990s, he parlayed his knowledge of marine biology and fisheries science to students at Kunsan National University and as an invited researcher at the National Research Council of Canada's Institute of Marine Biology. Since 2001, Dr. Park has excelled as a professor at Korea Maritime & Ocean University.

An expert in his field, Dr. Park earned a Doctor of Philosophy from National Fisheries University of Busan in 1992. He retains his professional alignment with the Korean Society of Fish Pathology, the Ichthyological Society of Korea, the Korean and World Aquaculture Societies, the Korean Fisheries Society and the Japanese Society of Fisheries Science. With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Park has authored a number of books and articles, including "Comparative morphometric traits of hybrids between red sea bream (Pagrus major) and black sea bream (Acanthopagrus schlegelii)," "Production of hybrids between female red sea bream and male black sea bream in Korea" and "Relative growth of barbels in striped sea catfish, Plotosus lineatus Thunberg."

Due to his notable accomplishments in the field, Dr. Park was honored through the Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute in 1988 as well as with the Locust Citation from at Korea Maritime & Ocean University in 2003. Featured in Who's Who in Asia and Who's Who in the World, he has accepted awards from Marine Industry and Technology Organization and the Research Institute for Marine Science and Technology in addition to the Excellent Research Professor Award from at Korea Maritime & Ocean University.
