John Kinnear Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Architecture

Mr. Kinnear lends years of expertise to commercial, institutional and residential projects throughout the United States



John Kinnear is a registered architect in New York and Connecticut and was certified through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

    NEW YORK, NY, October 17, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Kinnear has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Due to a lifelong love for architecture and design, Mr. Kinnear now excels in his eponymous private practice, John Kinnear Architects, in New York City. With considerable expertise in urban planning, renovation, construction and restoration to his credit, he has completed commercial, institutional and residential projects throughout the United States, including Credit Suisse, a cutting-edge banking facility for which he was presented with the DOC National Design Award. Mr. Kinnear has additionally worked on medical facilities in New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Texas, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., as well as a 120-year-old historic mustard factory in Maine.

Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Kinnear has been active as the chairman of the Architectural Advisory Committee for the town of Ridgefield. He also developed a series of talks about "The Scots Who Built New York," which has since become an app for touring the Big Apple. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kinnear worked as principal of Janko Rasic Associates Architects between 1972 and 2003.

Before embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Kinnear earned a Bachelor of Architecture through Pratt Institute. Subsequently, he became a registered architect in New York and Connecticut and was certified through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. A dedicated community advocate, Mr. Kinnear also found success as the president of the American Friends of the Georgian Group and as a board member with the Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Partnership, The American-Scottish Foundation, The Pilgrims of the United States, and the St. Nicholas Society.

With a plethora of knowledge and experiences at his disposal, Mr. Kinnear has contributed to numerous projects over the course of his career. However, he is especially proud of the Queen Elizabeth II September 11th Garden at Hanover Square in Manhattan and the restoration of 18th- and 19th-century homes and projects on the National Register of Historic Places. For his professional accomplishments, he was recognized with the Bronze Medal for an installation at the Chelsea Flower Show in London in 2005.
