Having established his firm in 1977, Mr. Wineman serves as the president of Paul R. Wineman and Associates, Inc., for which he offers his services as a business management consultant. A talented contract negotiator, he represents, advises and trains American companies how to negotiate with other countries of the world. Along with Mr. Wineman negotiating contracts on behalf of American companies, he also presents customized negotiating seminars to Fortune 500 companies.

Living abroad for more than half of his life, primarily in the Middle East, Mr. Wineman became fluent in Farsi and Arabic, an expert in the Middle Eastern culture, and learned to negotiate on the streets of Arab and Iranian cities. For several years, he has delivered public speeches to organizations about America in the Middle East. Prior to establishing his firm, Mr. Wineman, based out of Beirut, Lebanon, was a regional director on behalf of United Technology, Inc. between 1973 and 1977 and Avco Corporation from 1969 until 1973.

The author of the 1999 book "The Sweet Art of Negotiation," Mr. Wineman divides the book into two parts. The first half is a buyers' guidebook to daily negotiating and the second is a sellers' guidebook to long-term negotiating. Using his years of professional negotiating experience as a reference, Mr. Wineman guides even the most novice negotiator on how to secure the best deal possible, whether buying or selling.

Born in Hollywood, Mr. Wineman later studied at the University of Washington, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in communication in 1958. He then served to the rank of a captain in the U.S. Army between 1958 and 1965 before ultimately attaining a Master of Arts in Arab studies at American University of Beirut in 1967. For five of the seven years in which Mr. Wineman was in active in his tour of duty, he served as a green beret. Trained to go to Iran due to being fluent in the language, he taught the Iranians counter insurgency tactics, and was a paratroop leader and trainer.

During Paul's many years spent in the Middle East, he was in two airplane crashes, hijacked once on a commercial airliner, and held a hostage of the Palestine Liberation Organization. Also during one of his military tours, he was the Officer-In-Charge of the US Armed Forces Radio and Television Services in Iran. Following that, for a short period, he was the General Manager of Television of Iran ("TVI"). Along with this he was featured in public relation videos produced by the military.

Mr. Wineman is a member of Rotary International. He is also a past President of the national fraternity of Phi Kappa Psi, a former trustee of the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation, and an active member of their Mentoring program. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Wineman has been featured in the 54th and 55th editions of Who's Who in America and the 26th edition of Who's Who in the West.
