SANTA YNEZ, CA, October 24, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gary Robinson has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Robinson is a noteworthy filmmaker and author whose expertise spans more than three decades. Among other subjects, his area of interest has always been Native Americans, including the history, cultures and contemporary issues of indigenous people. Writing, producing, directing and editing more than 100 video and television programs since the beginning of his career, he has also authored eighteen books. In 2019, Mr. Robinson penned his latest teen novel titled "Standing Strong," which portrays the life of a suicidal Native American teenager who transforms her life by becoming involved in a major oil pipeline protest.

Since 2005, Mr. Robinson excelled as a writer, a producer and a director for Tribal Eye Productions in Santa Ynez. Notably, he has written and produced multiple educational, informational and documentary Native American video projects, including a series of training programs for tribal transportation staff for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the Pacific Northwest region. Mr. Robinson previously served as a co-producer at Phil Lucas Productions, a communications specialist for the Camas Institute, which is operated by the Kalispel Tribe, and a public and community relations specialist at Chumash Casino Resort and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.

In 2016, Mr. Robinson published the first book in the Lands of Our Ancestors series of historical novels, which was approved by the Chumash Culture Department and the tribe's elders committee. The third and final book of the series, which has been well-received by California educators, was published in May, 2019.

Impressively, Mr. Robinson was further active as the co-producer of a one-hour PBS documentary titled "Healing the Warrior's Heart" in 2014, which examined ways traditional Native American warrior spirituality has been used to heal veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder. Utilizing Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in television and film production from the University of Texas at Austin, he attributes his success to his tenacity, noting that Native Americans are underrepresented in American media.

In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Robinson has accrued multiple accolades for his book, film and television contributions. He proudly accepted an Emmy Award for his participation in the production of "The Native Americans" for Turner Television Network. Mr. Robinson's work has also been honored for Best Industrial Film and Best Public Service Film at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco.
