Prior to obtaining her current role, she served as a staff nurse in the diabetic unit at Scioto Memorial Hospital from 1988 to 1989 and in the psychiatric unit at Mercy Hospital from 1987 until 1988. Earlier in her career, Ms. Murphy was a staff nurse in a number of units at Southern Hills Hospital, including the psychiatric unit from 1980 to 1987, the psychiatric-alcohol unit between 1975 and 1979, and the medical-surgical unit from 1973 until 1975.
Ms. Murphy first pursued an education with Scioto Technical College, where she was licensed as a practical nurse in 1973. She continued her studies with Hocking Technical College, completing an Associate of Arts in nursing in 1980. She later matriculated at Ohio University, earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1989. Ms. Murphy is certified as a medical and surgical nurse by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
Throughout her career, Ms. Murphy has been recognized for her contributions. She has received various awards and accolades for her achievements.
