Dr. Ramsey concluded his academic efforts at the aforementioned institute in 1982, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in physics.
Prior to his career as a physics teacher, Dr. Ramsey served to the rank of captain in the United States Air Force, from 1972 to 1977. He later worked as a physics instructor and the assistant chair of the physics department at the Illinois Institute of Technology between 1981 and 1982. Since 1982, he has found success with Loyola University, Chicago, as a physics professor. Likewise, Dr. Ramsey has excelled as the president of the American Association of Physics Teachers since 2018.
Since 1987, Dr. Ramsey has leveraged his expertise as a consultant to Uriel Corporation of Hickory Hills, Illinois, and as a visiting scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. He is currently authoring a book, "The Physics of Music."
