A veteran business professional backed by expertise in operational excellence, business development, program management, P&L leadership, M&A and executive talent development, Mr. Spearman has excelled most-recently as the president & chief operating officer and continues as vice chairman of the board of directors for Rockland Techimed, LLC, since 2016. A theranostics company, Rockland Techimed is dedicated to the early diagnosis and treatment of hypoxic injury. Rockland's disruptive proprietary technology is focused on revolutionizing medicine in both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Prior to joining Rockland, he found success with Consensys Imaging Service, a private-equity backed national diagnostic imaging service company, as president, a member of the board of directors and its chief executive officer. He successfully prosecuted two U.S. patents, negotiated three OEM partnerships and achieved ISO 13485 certification/re-certification. Prior to Consensys, Mr. Spearman bolstered his core competencies in human capital development, business operation & re-design, mergers and acquisitions in executive roles with Unisyn Medical Technologies and for more than a decade with GE Healthcare.
In the earliest years of his career, Mr. Spearman served as a technical sales representative II for Bayer Corporation's industrial chemicals division and sales manager for Morton Industrial Coatings between 1992 and 1999. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University in 1993. Ten years later, Mr. Spearman graduated with a Master of Business Administration in management from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University. Additionally, he contributed to his community starting in 2004 as a sworn police officer with a suburban Chicago Police Department, continuing in Colorado for four years as a volunteer patrol deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and continuing to this day with a fourth police agency in Illinois. He is Six Sigma Green-belt certified, has led 17 LEAN kaizen events, is a certified instructor in the areas of sales, change management and leadership. He is also fluent in German.
Although his career has been filled with many highlights, Mr. Spearman is especially proud of being chosen as one of 85 non-business majors nationally to obtain an inside look at Harvard Business School via an immersion-simulation experience in 1991, Harvard's Summer Venture in Management. In the coming years, he intends to remain open to new opportunities in mergers & acquisitions and make Rockland Techimed, LLC a global company. Mr. Spearman also aims to work in the finance industry, which will allow him to leverage his expertise to positively impact capital funding, sales, mergers, acquisitions, management team development, operational excellence and significant growth of small, emerging and/or disruptive businesses of all types.
