Currently active as the general director of Kitakyushu Municipal Moji Hospital in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan, for the past five years, he formerly served in the same role at the Shinkomonji Hospital in Kitakyushu between 2010 and 2014. Additionally, Dr. Yasumoto worked as the chairman of the Kitakyushu Municipal Medical Center and the Matsuyama Red Cross Hospital in Japan.
Moreover, Dr. Yasumoto taught various surgery courses at the University of Occupational and Environmental Health in Kitakyushu and Kyushu University in Fukuoka. As a seasoned researcher in the areas of cancer immunology and immunotherapy, he is also a widely published author. Dr. Yasumoto has contributed his wealth of knowledge to more than 200 articles to various peer-reviewed journals in his area of expertise.
Dr. Yasumoto pursued an education at Kyushu University, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1969. He subsequently obtained a Doctor of Philosophy from Kyushu University in 1980. Additional educational pursuits to Dr. Yasumoto's credit include clinical training in the department of surgery at Kyushu University Beppu Hospital as well as in the department of respiratory disease at Kyushu University Hospital.
To stay aware of current trends in the industry, Dr. Yasumoto is an advisory board member of the Japanese Surgical Society and an executive board member of the Japanese Lung Cancer Society. He is also affiliated with the Japan Society for Biological Therapy, the Japanese Association for Chest Surgery and the Japanese Association of Cancer Immunology.
