WHEATLAND, WY, November 07, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Mr. Whitney with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Whitney celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having accrued more than 60 years of inimitable experience in private equity and investment banking, Mr. Whitney is a highly respected figure in the financial services world. He received a Bachelor of Arts in 1957 and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Rochester. Prior to launching his career, Mr. Whitney served with the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1963.

Mr. Whitney has been a partner at Monument Partners, a leading independent global private fund placement agency, since 2018. He has concurrently garnered a laudable reputation as the chairman and president at Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney and Co. since 1972. The latter firm grew under Mr. Whitney's leadership, becoming a private equity investment banking firm headquartered in New York which provides multinational business and investment services to high technology and other manufacturing companies.

From 1968 until 1972, Mr. Whitney was the president of Warren Compounds Corp. in Pennsylvania. He held multiple positions at Wadsworth Manufacturing Associates Inc. in Syracuse, New York. He served as the president between 1968 and 1971, the vice president from 1965 to 1968 and a controller from 1964 until 1965. Mr. Whitney was a general agent at National Life Vermont between 1963 and 1964 and worked at the Prudential Insurance Co. in Rochester, New York as a division manager from 1959 to 1963, as well as a special agent from 1958 until 1959.

Mr. Whitney became involved in his profession because of the opportunities the job offered both financially and professionally. He was motivated to provide for his wife and three children and, as time went on, revenue increased along with his satisfaction. Determined to finish studying for a Master of Business Administration, Mr. Whitney decided that he wished to remain in financial services for the remainder of his professional life. Opining that his service as the chairman of Excel was the highlight of his career, he draws immense pride from increasing the company's public profile and taking it from a 50-million-dollar company to a two-billion-dollar company.

Throughout the duration of his career, Mr. Whitney has contributed as the chairman and chief executive officer of Grobet File Co, the chairman of Dura Autombolie Systems Inc., formely Excel Industries and a board director for such companies as Baldwin Tech. Corp., Seneca Printing Inc. and Cheyenne Capital. He has maintained his professional affinity with such organizations as the New York Yacht Club, the Lotos Club of New York City, the Century Club of Syracuse, the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club, the Princeton Club, First Technology-London and Keene Corp. Mr. Whitney is a former chair of the University of Wyoming Foundation Board and of the Wyoming Business Council. He was awarded the University of Wyoming Cornerstone Award. Additionally, he is a trustee for the University of Rochester.

In 2011, Mr. Whitney and his wife Fay Wadsworth Whitney gave a gift of one million to establish the Ralph R. and Fay Wadsworth Whitney Endowed Gift Fund at the University of Rochester. The fund provides scholarships, fellowships and grants to students in nurse practitioner programs, or more advanced degree programs who have the desire to collaborate in research or clinical settings. Mrs. Whitney also attended the University of Rochester for nursing.

In accounting for his success, Mr. Whitney opines that no one in the world does anything in a vacuum. Nothing he was able to accomplish would have been possible without the efforts of his wonderful colleagues, or his wife, who made a good teammate for him. Mr. Whitney also credits his mentor, Bob Kennedy, for always motivating and inspiring him.
