AUSTIN, TX, November 08, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lindy Irwin PMA®-CPT, RN has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Irwin has excelled within the fields of movement and health care since her career began as a Pilates Instructor at Goodbody's Wellness Center in Dallas, TX in 2002. She taught in various Pilates studios and venues in the greater Dallas area for more than a decade. She served as a registered nurse at Baylor Heart & Vascular Hospital from 2011-2012. In 2018, she established Authentic Pilates of Austin, a fully-equipped classical Pilates studio that offers a variety of Pilates sessions and classes. Her mission as an instructor and studio owner is to heal and empower people to greater health for improved quality of life. She draws upon her cumulative experience as a Pilates instructor, ballet dancer, and registered nurse to help clients of all ages with a vast array of conditions and ailments, such as spinal disc conditions, scoliosis, chronic neck and shoulder ailments, Psoas muscle tightness, and postnatal conditions.

Growing up in Saint Petersburg, FL, Ms. Irwin studied classical ballet starting at the age of three. As a young teenager, she attended various summer ballet intensive training programs throughout the country, during which time she was exposed to Pilates as supplementary conditioning for dance. She turned to this movement method as her main focus to heal the severe Achilles tendonitis and widespread inflammation she obtained from long hours of rigorous ballet training. Ms. Irwin earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from Texas Christian University in 2002. She graduated with honors from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010.

Ms. Irwin's studies and experience as a nurse in vascular surgery provided her with a more in depth understanding of physiology and pathology, which she draws upon in her current role as a Pilates instructor. She cross-refers and collaborates with local Austin health care professionals including physicians, physical therapists, and chiropractors to give her clients optimal, all-encompassing care. Since the start of her educational pursuits, she has accumulated more than 1,500 hours of comprehensive Pilates instructor training in the classical Pilates Method. She completed the majority of her studies at the Pilates Center in Boulder, CO, which is commonly referred to as "The Harvard of Pilates," and is one of the oldest and most comprehensive teacher training programs in the country. Lindy completed The Pilates Center's Master's Program and Advanced Teacher Training Bridge Program. She has also completed The Classical Syllabus Teacher Program. She holds the Pilates Industry's accreditation certification by the Pilates Method Alliance.

Upon reflection of her life and career thus far, Ms. Irwin attributes much of her success to the intuition that comes with years of analyzing and teaching movement and biomechanics, honing her artistry of teaching communication, the willingness to listen to and watch her clients closely, and being compassionate. Looking toward the future, she hopes to continue the substantial development of her studio and provide more outreach programs within her community. At the heart of Ms. Irwin's life is her young son. She enjoys watching him flourish into his own person and looks forward to seeing him develop and pursue his own passions and calling in life.
