ATLANTIC BEACH, NY, November 15, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Leslie Frimerman with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Frimerman celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Frimerman is a retired financial services executive with a career focus in data processing and IT integration. He attended Baruch College, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance in 1974. Furthermore, Mr. Frimerman completed a Master of Business Administration, with distinction, from Adelphi University in 1978.

In 1965, Mr. Frimerman began his career with the American Express Company as a new accounts analyst. He became interested in the potential impact of new productivity tools, learned to program computers, and embarked on a series of research and modeling projects for the company. One of these projects, a 1974 statistical modeling analysis of new accounts applications and customer accounts receivables, was the foundation for models that would be adopted across the industry for use in new accounts scoring and credit monitoring.

In 1978, Mr. Frimerman rose to vice president of finance and planning for the American Express Card Division. From 1992 until 1999 he was American Express' senior vice president for systems and data processing. During this time period, from 1980-1981, he also served as the finance officer for the National Computer Conference. In 1996, Les and nine other Information Technology (IT) experts, were invited to attend meetings of the U.S. Congress House Committee on Ways and Means. At these meetings, Les and the nine other IT experts presented the critical requirements of re-engineering every U.S. government computer application and all the file structures that use date information in order to process date sensitive data at the turn of the year 2000 (also known as Y2K). The critical need was to expand the date format from YY (two position year code) to YYYY (four position year code). While this simple change may seem like a trivial undertaking, it was quite the opposite. Billions of dollars were spent across the globe by every financial, commercial and government entity to make this change. The recommendations were adopted and as 2000 became a reality, there were no interruptions in the U.S. government being able to process date sensitive data.

Since 2000, Mr. Frimerman has been an assistant professor of mathematics at Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY. In 2005, he published "Selected Functions of the TI83 and TI84 Calculator Handbook for Statistics." This successful publication is now in its fourth edition. In 2007, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the New York State Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges (NYSMATYC) and served in that capacity until 2009. Concurrently, in 2009, he received the "State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching."

In addition to his outstanding professional achievements, Mr. Frimerman has also been an accomplished civic leader. During the 1996 to 2015 time period, he served as commissioner of the Mayor's Planning Committee and the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Village of Atlantic Beach, NY. Concurrently from 1997 until retiring in 20l7, he served as president of the Pebble Cove Homeowner Association, a private residential community within the Village of Atlantic Beach, NY.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Leslie Frimerman has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
