SANTA FE, NM, November 20, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Joseph N. Ginocchio, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Ginocchio celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having accrued 55 years of professional experience to his credit, Dr. Ginocchio is currently a guest scientist and fellow at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, having progressed from the positon of staff scientist in 2005. Prior to this appointment, he excelled as an associate professor at Yale University from 1968 to 1975. Dr. Ginocchio found success as a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1966 and 1968. He began his career as a postdoctoral fellow at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, from 1964 until 1966.

Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Ginocchio pursued an education in engineering physics at Lehigh University, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1958. He completed additional coursework at the University of Rochester, from which he graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in 1964. During his time in grad school, he was further inspired to enter the field of physics by his professor of nuclear physics, Bruce French. An expert in the field, Dr. Ginocchio routinely contributes articles to professional journals and conference proceedings.

Outside of his immediate professional responsibilities, Dr. Ginocchio is an active fellow of the American Physical Society. He was the recipient of the Alexander Von Humboldt Senior Research Award in 1991 and has been featured in multiple editions of "Who's Who in America." Notably, he showed that quasi degeneracies of quantum energy levels in atomic nuclei are due to a relativistic quantum symmetry, a startling discovery because most of the properties of atomic nuclei can be explained with non-relativistic quantum physics. Many of Dr. Ginocchio's additional discoveries were made in collaboration with other skilled scientists.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Ginocchio has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
