Aligned with University Reproductive Associates in New Jersey since 2003, Dr. Weiss is an esteemed reproductive endocrinologist who specializes in infertility, menopause and gynecology. A celebrated physician of 55 years, he formerly chaired the obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) department at Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School from 1986 to 2014, where he remains Emeritus Professor. He is also the former director of the division of reproductive endocrinology at New York University Medical Center, with which he was also an assistant, associate and full professor of OB/GYN between 1971 and 1985. Dr. Weiss maintains his professional affiliation with the University Hospital in Newark.

From 2005-2011, Dr. Weiss served on the board of directors of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). A nonprofit organization that represents 24 broad areas of medicine, the ABMS is the largest physician-led specialty certification organization in the U.S. Dr. Weiss has been an officer of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), which certifies physicians in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, from 1984 thru 2006, including serving as Director, Treasurer, President and Chairman of the Board. Dr. Weiss' research has resulted in the contribution of more than 300 scientific papers to professional journals on such topics as the biology of the protein hormone relaxin, infertility, menopause and hormone physiology. He has also served on the editorial board of several scholarly journals, including Fertility and Sterility, Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.

An alumnus of New York University, Dr. Weiss received a Bachelor of Arts, with magna cum laude honors, in 1960 as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a Doctor of Medicine in 1964 as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Additional educational pursuits to his credit include an internship and fellowship in the department of medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a residency in OB/GYN at New York University Medical Center and a research fellowship in physiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is board certified in OB/GYN and in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Weiss also notably served two years in the U.S. Army to the rank of Major between 1969 and 1971, receiving an Army Commendation Award for his services in 1971.

Throughout his career, Dr. Weiss has held leadership positions in many professional organizations. He is a past president of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, the New York Obstetrical Society, the Council of University Chairs of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the New York Gynecological Society. Among other organizations, Dr. Weiss remains a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

A National Institutes of Health-funded physician and scientist of more than 35 years, Dr. Weiss has also received grants from the Mellon Foundation and the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation. A Purdue-Frederick Award recipient for medical research and a Robert Bruce Dow Medal winner from NYU Washington Square College, he is also a celebrated Marquis listee who has been featured in over 60 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. Dr. Weiss is the proud father of four children, through whom he has ten grandchildren.
