Julie E. Sillin Johnson is a teacher and educational consultant with more than 15 years of service to her field.

Sillin Johnson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Johnson is a teacher and educational consultant with more than 15 years of service to her field. The first college graduate in her family, she has felt called to teach since she was a child. Ms. Johnson attended the Ohio State University in Columbus, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 1986, before going on to study at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she completed a Master of Arts in 1995.

From 1988 to 1994, Ms. Johnson taught for Cincinnati Public Schools, and from 1990 to 1994, she was a social studies teacher and laboratory coach at the Paideia focused Hughes Alternative Center. While there, she also was the academic advisor for the Ohio Mock Trial program and a voter registration facilitator. She became a presenter of Ohio Proficiency Test preparation for Englefield & Arnold Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, from 1997 to 2001. Ms. Johnson was also an evaluator of education assessment tests for the Data Recognition Corp. in Mason, Ohio from 1998 to 2002, and served as an education coordinator and workshop developer for Kids Voting, Cincinnati, until her retirement in 2002.

Since her retirement, Ms. Johnson has been scholarship chair of the Ohio State University Alumni Club of Greater Cincinnati. She is a volunteer and co-founder of Greyhound Adoption of Greater Cincinnati, an organization that pairs retired racing greyhounds with permanent adoptive homes. Among other honors for her work, Ms. Johnson was named a graduate fellow of the National Endowment of the Humanities in 1992. In her retirement, she enjoys sewing and gardening.
