At the beginning of his career, he worked with Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana as well as in Brussels, Belgium with responsibility for Europe, North and West Africa, and Israel. This was then followed by work in Atlanta, GA, before returning to Columbus, IN, headquarters as director industrial marketing, co-director industrial up-fit center and industrial marketing & technical sales from 1962 to 1989. During this time, he also briefly contributed to Hercules Engine Inc. as the vice president of marketing in Canton, Ohio, from 1988 to 1989. In addition to his primary endeavors, Mr. Allen has served as the president of Larry R. Allen Associates in North Canton since 1989.
Prior to embarking on his professional path, Mr. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville in 1962. An expert in the field of management consulting, he has participated as a U.S. and international speaker for Cummins Engine Co. and professionally through the Ohio National Speakers Association and publically as a Toastmasters International Clubs member. Mr. Allen has authored numerous articles for professional journals and magazines in the field.
Civically, Mr. Allen has found success as the president of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, president pf the North East Ohio Logistics Network, president of Toastmasters International Stark County Community Club and founding president of Toastmasters International Advanced Hall of Fame Club. In addition, he held Toastmasters International District 10 Area Governor positions and served as Southern Division Governor. He is currently an affiliate of the Trusted Advisors Network, LLC. Moreover, he is a past member of the American Marketing Association, the American Management Association, the International Water Association, and the National Speakers Association. Furthermore, Mr. Allen is affiliated with the North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce, served as Boy Scouts of America Hoosier Trails District Chairman, and coached boys youth hockey.
For his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Allen has been honored as a Distinguished Toastmaster by Toastmasters International. He was also notably presented with the President's award from the Ohio National Speakers Association and Division Governor of the Year award from Toastmasters International District 10, among other accolades. Likewise, he was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry and Who's Who in America. Outside of work, Mr. Allen enjoys reading, public speaking, and sports in his spare time.
