Ms. Brown is distinguished as a principal with a passion for developing future leaders

Donnie DeVane Brown's most notable strengths are her strategic thinking skills and ability to make the best decisions for her school and students.

CRYSTAL RIVER, FL, December 06, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donnie DeVane Brown has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by a wealth of professional experience in school administration, Ms. Brown's most notable strengths are her strategic thinking skills and ability to make the best decisions for her school and students. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education, summa cum laude, from Saint Leo College in 1992. In 1998, she graduated with a Master of Education from the University of South Florida, magna cum laude. Subsequently, Ms. Brown became nationally board certified as a middle childhood generalist teacher in 2001.

Ms. Brown began her notable career in education as a teacher at the Crystal River Primary School from 1992 to 2006. She later accepted the distinguished role of the principal at Forest Ridge Elementary. From 2009 to 2011, she found success as the principal of Lecanto Primary School. In the years since, Ms. Brown has excelled as the principal of the Crystal River Primary School.

For her immeasurable success as a school administrator, Ms. Brown was the recipient of the Exceeding Expectations School Award from the East Coast Technical Assistance Center in 2017. She was recognized as the Civitan of the Year by the Crystal River Civitan Club International in 2001 and the Teacher of the Year by the Crystal River Primary School in 1997. A member of Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Kappa Gamma, she is active as a facilitator at the Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Academy. Ms. Brown attributes her success to her perseverance, tenacity and having good people to work alongside.

Ms. Brown's career is an ironic case, as she personally did not have a smooth introduction to the school system. As a child, she had an undiagnosed hearing deficiency in which she was unable to hear the beginning and ending of words. This made her speech very garbled and not many people could understand her, leading her first grade teacher to insist to her parents that their daughter needed to be placed in a different academic setting. Despite this trauma, her parents fostered a passion for learning and she wanted to prove to herself that she could learn at the same pace as her fellow students. Beyond these experiences, Ms. Brown wanted to become an educator to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of children.
