Sampson with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Sampson celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A talented artist who began her career as a photographer with WKRC-TV in Cincinnati in 1972, Ms. Sampson's career expanded over several decades to include art direction, advertising and marketing communications. Working for two additional major market television stations as Creative Services Director, she was later acquired by the Proctor and Gamble Company, where she contributed her services for 18 years. During her career there, Ms. Sampson served as Producer of P&G television commercials, P&G television programming, and for six years as Executive Producer of the video news magazine, P&G This Quarter. She also authored numerous magazine articles and video productions on company product and managerial topics for employee and broadcast network viewership. Ms. Sampson retired from the corporate world in 1997 to focus on her lifelong love of painting and photography.

For the past 22 years, Ms. Sampson has concentrated solely on her artwork. Her fine art, which began with portraiture in pencil, charcoal and pastel soon expanded to paintings in oil and mixed media. Her work has been featured over the years at several major Cincinnati Art Galleries: Closson's Fine Art Gallery, the Greenwich House Gallery and the Cincinnati Art Gallery, and in numerous private collections. Her works include still life plus city and country scenes inspired by her travels throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Maine, and abroad in England, France and Italy, China and Japan.

Born in Saint Louis, Ms. Sampson was encouraged, both at school and at home, to develop her writing and artistic skills. She proceeded to study at the University of Cincinnati, where she acquired a Bachelor of Arts in English literature in 1969. Ms. Sampson then began as a writer and photographer for several weekly newspapers in Cincinnati during the early 1970s.
