Howard Hallengren Celebrated for Dedication to Conservative Investing

Utilizing his long experience, Howard Hallengren authored "Reminiscences of an Accidental Embezzler."

CHICAGO, IL, December 09, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Howard Hallengren has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by a general interest in the stock market and investments, Mr. Hallengren was inspired to pursue a career in finance. Initially, he worked at the First National Bank of Chicago, where he became Chief Investment Officer from 1970 to 1977. Even though his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of his early work with First Chicago, during which time he opposed the popular investment philosophy prevalent at the time that all one needed to buy were the "nifty fifty" stocks. Once that craze collapsed, Business Week magazine profiled him and his unique stance in a featured article.

After gaining valuable expertise with First Chicago, Mr. Hallengren found a new challenge as the chief investment officer of international private banking at Chase Manhattan Bank from 1982 to 1991. Subsequently, he had great success as the co-founder of Falcon Real Estate Investment Management, Ltd., along with Jack Miller, which provides advisory and management services for international investors in U.S. real estate. During his spare time, Mr. Hallengren devotes his time and resources to others as a supporter of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago and Music Theater Works in Wilmette, IL.

Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Hallengren earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Princeton University in 1952. He concluded his academic efforts with a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business in 1958. Utilizing his long experience, Mr. Hallengren authored "Reminiscences of an Accidental Embezzler" in 2016.

For his professional efforts, Mr. Hallengren was recognized with an Award for Support from the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in 2019. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue following the stock market for as long as he can. Furthermore, Mr. Hallengren aims to write additional novels and become more involved in charitable endeavors.
