A former life insurance executive, Mr. Pearson retired from his role as the chairman of Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York in 1997 after holding the position for a year. Previously, he worked for the company for more than 25 years, serving as the chief executive officer from 1987 until 1997, the president from 1981 until 1996, the executive vice president from 1979 until 1981, the senior vice president of the insurance division from 1975 until 1979 and the vice president from 1971 until 1975. From 1969 to 1970, he found success with Security Mutual as the director of life underwriting and the second vice president of underwriting. Previously, Mr. Pearson excelled as a junior life underwriter, a life underwriter and a senior life underwriter throughout the 1960s.
Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Pearson earned a Bachelor of Arts in business and economics from the University of Maine in 1961. Mr. Pearson has professionally contributed to many organizations over the years, including Lourdes Memorial Hospital, Lee Health, Elmira College, the Broome Community College Foundation, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, the American Council of Life Insurance and the New York State Business Development Council.
Mr. Pearson has been celebrated many times for his efforts in the insurance industry. Notably, he was presented with an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Likewise, Mr. Pearson was featured in Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in America.
