Claire Marcus was named a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society in 2016.

Inspired by her mother's passion for art .Ms. Marcus decided to become an artist at a young age. She started her journey by completing coursework at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston between 1962 and 1963 and at the Museum of Fine Arts, also in Boston, from 1967 until 1979. Following this achievement, she began exhibiting her work at a variety of Galleries and Shows. Notably, Ms. Marcus has been a Juried Artist in The New England Watercolor Society Regional Shows, The Northwest Print Council Traveling Shows, MGNE Monoprint/Monotype Celebration, Printmakers of Cape Cod, All New England Shows Cape Cod Art Association, among others.
Outside of her own art, Ms. Marcus is an avid civic advocate for her community. She contributed for many years on the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Art Association, as a Board Member and Coordinator for the Weston Arts and Crafts Association and as a Founding Member of the Board of Directors for ArtsWayland. Additionally, she has been affiliated with the Society of Cape Cod Craftsmen and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Since 2000, Ms. Marcus has provided her expertise to the Fresh Paint Gallery in Yarmouth, Massachusetts, as its business manager.
In honor of her achievements, Ms. Marcus was named a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society in 2016. Other accolades include the 2019 People's Choice Award from the Cape Cod Art Center for her piece, "These Are a Few of My Favorite Things," and the 2014 first place award in the watercolor category of the Cape Cod Art Association. Over the years, Ms. Marcus has also received numerous honorable mentions in both the watercolor and the mixed media categories of the Cape Cod Art Association, as well as second place awards in the watercolor category of the Cape Cod Art Center and the Cape Cod Art Association.
