MASON, OH, December 16, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jim DeJoy has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in physical education from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, in 1989, Mr. DeJoy began his career as a physical education teacher. Mr. DeJoy commenced teaching at Sycamore Junior High School in Cincinnati in 1991, as his degree grants him the certification needed to teach kindergarten through twelfth grade students. In 1993, Mr. DeJoy attended Xavier University in Cincinnati for postgraduate studies.

Mr. DeJoy enjoys teaching and mentoring kids, but he also enjoys learning from them. He knew this was the correct career path for him because his mother and other family members were also teachers, and he loved hearing their stories from school. With this family background, Mr. DeJoy puts his all into teaching, which is exhibited by his 2016 Educator of the Year Award from the Blue Ash Montgomery Rotary Club.

At Sycamore Junior High School, Mr. DeJoy spearheaded "The Sandwich Project." This project consists of student volunteers making more than 250 handmade sandwiches to bring to food shelters in downtown Cincinnati. The project also takes students to a drop in center in downtown Cincinnati, where they can serve dinner to the hungry. Additionally, Mr. DeJoy is a member of the Ohio Alliance for Health; the Ohio Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. The physical education teacher of more than 20 years predicts he will be retired in five years' time, but he hopes to maintain a part-time athletic position in the junior or high school.
