STRATFORD, CT, December 17, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Lawrence Nazzareth Secchiaroli with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Secchiaroli celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Now a retired mechanical design engineer, Mr. Secchiaroli first worked as a junior engineer in Propulsion Engineering in Stratford, Connecticut. One year later as a design engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft, he worked his way up into management, became a design engineer leader in 1991, where he remained for the duration of his career until 2014. An American aircraft manufacturer based in Stratford, Sikorsky Aircraft was established by Igor Sikorsky in 1923 and was among the first companies to manufacture helicopters for civilian and military use.
Renowned for his work, Mr. Secchiaroli was responsible for the propulsion of fuel systems and fire extinguishing containment. He assisted in the development of the "Hat Section," in which closed angles are designed to reduce injury from sharp corners, which reduces the quantity of the parts and renders them stiffer and stronger so that they can be spaced further apart. Additionally, these angles reduce the weight, which lowers the number of parts by 40 percent. The ergonomics and the amount of injuries due to assembly installation was also reduced significantly as a result. Mr. Secchiaroli notably holds two patents in his field, one of which includes a computerized fuel system, valves and pumps, and another for an aluminum body valve with stainless steel innards for high temperature application.
Mr. Secchiaroli received an associate degree in engineering at Norwalk State Technical College in 1976. He soon transferred to the University of Bridgeport, where he acquired both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in engineering in 1978 and 1982, respectively. To remain aware of developments in his career, he was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Secchiaroli has been featured in the third edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
