Dr. John C. Wolf was honored multiple times with an Outstanding Performance Award by the VA between 1978 and 2003.

Dr. Wolf is a retired psychologist, having concluded his career in 2018 as a consultant in his own independent practice after twelve years in business. Celebrating more than 52 years in health care, he previously contributed for more than 35 years as a counseling psychologist with the Veterans Affairs (VA), working with two other professionals in a remote station in the middle of the Texas Panhandle treating patients. Dr. Wolf likewise worked in the field for several institutions, a nonprofit organization and was a psychology instructor at his alma mater, Stephen F. Austin State University, and an adjunct instructor of psychology at South Plains College for 20 years.

Enjoying a deeply rewarding career, Dr. Wolf greatly appreciated when former patients would contact him to let him know what a difference he had made in his or her life. Imbued with a sense of purpose, he found that he drew immense satisfaction from working with people. In addition to serving his patients, Dr. Wolf enjoyed conducting research in the field and contributing articles to scholarly journals in his area of expertise.

Involved in his community, Dr. Wolf remains a member of the Uniformed Services Coffee Group since 2004. He was active on the board of directors of the Lubbock Civic Chorale, the Dixie Little League, was a member of the Lubbock County Committee on Employment of the Handicapped, as well as a member of the advisory board in human services for South Plains College. Within the church, Dr. Wolf was a member of the Diocese of Northwest Texas Commission Ministry twice, a vestryman for Saint Christopher Episcopal Church for many years, a member of the General Board of examining Chaplains of the National Episcopal Church and a member of the spiritual development committee for the Northwest Diocese of Texas. Additionally, Dr. Wolf is a cantor and bass soloist for Saint Christopher's Church in Lubbock. In 2017, Dr. Wolf was accepted as a member of the Fellowship of Saint John, a confraternity order of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist.

An alumnus of Stephen F. Austin University, Dr. Wolf received a Bachelor of Science in 1964, a Master of Arts in 1967 and a Master of Education in 1969. He later earned a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of North Texas in 1976. Dr. Wolf is a certified and retired licensed psychologist in the state of Texas and has served as a licensed Eucharistic minister and worship leader in the Diocese of Northwest Texas since 2000.

Active with several professional organizations, Dr. Wolf was for many years a member of the American Psychological Association and is a past president of the Northwest Texas VA Psychological Association and a member and former board member of the Friends of Lubbock Library. He is also a member of the Westerners International and Llano Estacado Corral. Honored multiple times with an Outstanding Performance Award by the VA between 1978 and 2003, Dr. Wolf was also named Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member by South Plains College for the years of 1986 and 1987. For his military service, he received a Reserve Meritorious Service Medal from the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1983.
