OCALA, FL, January 09, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Nancy S. Tesmer with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Tesmer celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Supported by more than 30 years of practiced excellence in library sciences, Ms. Tesmer is an accomplished figure in her field. Most recently serving as a regional librarian for the Cleveland Veterans Affairs Hospital in Ohio from 1986 until her retirement in 1990, she formerly served the Cleveland VA Hospital as their chief librarian from 1975 to 1981 and an associate chief librarian from 1973 to 1975. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Brecksville VA Hospital in Ohio as a medical librarian from 1961 to 1965 and chief librarian from 1965 to 1973, as well as the Northampton VA Hospital in Massachusetts as a hospital librarian from 1959 to 1961. Ms. Tesmer commenced her career in 1956 as a junior assistant librarian at the East Branch Library in Akron, Ohio, holding the role for three years.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Tesmer pursued formal education at the University of Akron, where she pursued coursework from 1952 to 1954. In 1956, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Kent State University. To remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Tesmer has maintained association with the Northeast Ohio Medical Librarian Association, the Medical Librarian Association and Zeta Tau Alpha.

Enjoying reading from an early age, Ms. Tesmer's ascent into the realm of academia was natural, drawing upon influence of her parents, who were both well educated. She decided to study library education and has always held a position as a student assistant in her local library throughout high school and college. Proudest of the ways she has advanced successfully in her career, Ms. Tesmer has thoroughly enjoyed her profession. She enjoys counter-cross-stitching and reading in her spare time.
