Dr. Richard Glenn Cole is a talented writer who notably contributed articles to various scholarly journals throughout his career.

Having earned the distinguished title of a professor emeritus of history, Dr. Cole devoted the length of his teaching career to Luther College. Hired in 1964, he maintained activity on campus for more than 40 years before retiring in 2005. Well-regarded for his passion for history, Dr. Cole also served as a mentor to countless students during his tenure. He is a talented writer who notably contributed articles to various scholarly journals throughout his career such as the Journal of Popular Culture and Sixteenth Century Journal. Years after retiring, Dr. Cole scribed a monograph, titled "What Did the Reformation Look Like 100 Years After Martin Luther?" through Edwin Mellen Press in 2014.

Inspired to pursue history, Dr. Cole thoroughly enjoyed the process of performing research and writing. A former reformation scholar, he had the pleasure of writing on the subject often. He notably holds a Bachelor of Arts from Eastern New Mexico University since 1956, a Master of Arts from the University of Iowa since 1958 and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Ohio State University since 1963.

To remain aware of current trends in the field, Dr. Cole has maintained his membership in various pertinent organizations, including as a member of the American Historical Association and the 16th Century Studies Association. Having garnered a laudable reputation for his inimitable talents as an educator, he was recognized as a 1988 Fulbright scholar and a 1998 fellow of the Sixteenth-Century Studies Council. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Cole has been showcased in the 55th and 56th editions of Who's Who in America.
