Mark Pattison was born and raised in Northeast Iowa and grew up surrounded by both agricultural processes and business development. He attended college at the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences. It was shortly after college that he met his wife Lynette and began a family which now includes two beautiful children, Nolan and Delaney.
Mr. Pattison spent 16 years in sales for the biotech pharmaceutical industry, opening markets for startup companies such as Genetech, Scios, and Actelion. These years were paramount in honing his skills as a salesman and entrepreneur, but they also paved the way for him to refine the techniques of business operations, team leadership, and product development. Although Mr. Pattison was experiencing great success within the pharmaceutical industry, he could not ignore the strong desire to create and develop the many business ideas he was passionate about. And so began his pursuit of entrepreneurial endeavors. Over the past 20 years, Mr. Pattison has built several successful companies including his parent company, North Corridor Property Investments, LLC. NCPI was established in 2003 and has built numerous custom homes as well as performed land development all over the corridor area. It has grown throughout the years to provide property management services and continues to build homes today. Several sibling companies have emerged from the foundation NCPI has set, including Northwest Investments of Iowa LLC, Fore Pattisons LLC, and HPR Investments LLC. Outside of real estate development, Mr. Pattison is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Buck Creek Hops, a farming, processing, and distribution company he began in 2014. This agriculture side of business development is a true passion for Mark and it shows, as the business has grown in just a few years from one test plot of hops plants to over 25 acres of mature hop plants, a fully operational processing facility, as well as a sales and distribution entity Buck Creek Distributing, which assists breweries across the country procure all the raw materials they desire.
One of the core beliefs Mr. Pattison holds is using his entrepreneurial skills for the good of community development, especially in Solon, Iowa where his family resides. Creating opportunities for families and new businesses is vital in a small town and Mr. Pattison has participated in that vision in many ways. In 2010 he spearheaded the revitalization of Lake MacBride Golf Course, rebuilding the clubhouse and the business from within. He developed a large subdivision on an area of land now known as MacBride Pointe. In 2017, he was the driving force for the development of one of the biggest buildings in downtown Solon, 121 on Main, which is now home to eight families and five businesses. Mr. Pattison also serves on numerous boards and committees within the community including Optimists International, Athletics Boosters, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club International, and St. Mary's Catholic Church financial board. As an entrepreneur at heart, Mr. Pattison believes in always looking to the future, keeping a positive outlook, and surrounding yourself with great people. By doing this, there is little you cannot achieve.
