Mark S. Rudy Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Mediation

Mr. Rudy retired from his work with an eponymous firm after years of representing clients in employment matters such as wrongful termination in order to pursue a full-time mediation practice

An acclaimed legal professional with decades of experience under his belt, Mr. Rudy has worked as the president and mediator of the eponymous Mark S. Rudy, APC – roles he has held since 1988. Previously, he worked for the firm of Rudy, Exelrod, Zieff & Lowe, LLP. A recognized Top 10 Mediator via the San Francisco Recorder and 2013 Mediator of the Year through the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, he has mediated more than 5,000 employment matters since the late-1980s. Additionally, he has handled more than 30 court and jury matters involving wrongful termination and employment discrimination issues as lead counsel. Throughout the years, Mr. Rudy also gained valuable experiences in the field of law through his work as a board member of various legal organizations.

Before embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Rudy earned a Bachelor of Arts in University of Connecticut in 1966. Three years later, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Georgetown University Law Center. Subsequently, he was admitted to practice through the California and Virginia Bar Associations, the District of Columbia Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he aligned himself with the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California, the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the International Academy of Mediators.

With a plethora of knowledge at his disposal, Mr. Rudy has written and co-written for several publications, including "Wrongful Employment Termination Practice" for California Continuing Education of the Bar in 1981. He has also spoken at numerous conferences regarding employment law, class actions lawsuits and alternative dispute resolution issues. For his professional accomplishments, he was honored as one of the Best Lawyers in America between 1991 and 2019 and as a Super Lawyer from 2004 to the present. A fellow through the International Academy of Mediators and the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, he was also recognized through Who's Who Legal for his work in mediation.
