When Mr. Scheiderer was about ten years old, his grandfather brought him to Court to observe a hearing. Although he did not understand much of content, he was inspired by the formality and seriousness of the event, and he was proud to watch his grandfather argue before the Court. Years later, Mr. Scheiderer decided to pursue a career in law, culminating in his current role as a partner with Dentons, where he specializes in class action defense work, data and privacy law, intellectual property litigation, and commercial disputes. Among his other responsibilities with the firm, Mr. Scheiderer has served on Dentons' Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Ethics Committee, and Privacy and Cybersecurity Team. His career has been highlighted by successfully defending several massive class action lawsuits, prevailing in numerous judge and jury trials, and arguing before multiple appellate courts, including the Eighth and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
In recognition of his experience and expertise, Mr. Scheiderer is frequently asked to speak and to write on legal topics. In 2019 alone, Mr. Scheiderer authored the Missouri law chapter of "Indemnification Clauses in Commercial Contracts" for Thomson Reuters' Practical Law, and his article "DASHBOARD Act Could Be Unintended Game Changer for Data Breach Valuation" was published by Bloomberg Law.
Mr. Scheiderer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint John's University in 1998. From there, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2001. Among his professional affiliations, Mr. Scheiderer is the co-founder and co-chair of the ABA's Subcommittee on Data Breach, the elected representative of the Notre Dame Law School Alumni Board, Region 5 (representing Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska), a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, and a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. A devoted community advocate, he gives back as a pro bono Ombudsman for the Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), as a volunteer attorney with the Military Matters program, as a volunteer attorney with Legal Aid of Western Missouri, and as a mentor attorney for the Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy. Mr. Scheiderer was also proud to assist Missouri's Attorney General in the creation of Missouri's Military Legal Assistance Team, a pro bono program designed to assist service members with civil legal matters.
In recognition of his professional accomplishments, Mr. Scheiderer was selected by Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 2016 as an "Up and Coming Lawyer." He was selected as "Rising Star" in Kansas and Missouri by Super Lawyers from 2011 to 2016.
