Cottrell's presentation "The Right People In The Right Seats-Today's Game Changer For Any Business" received great positive feedback. His talk instructed attendees on how to avoid costly hiring errors by focusing on the "who rather than the what" and making the proper hires to ensure proper efficiency, growth and profitability for any business.
"We have created a job benchmarking process to make sure the right people are properly assigned to the right seat. It starts at the top within the company by creating the right business structure including defining key roles and metrics. Then you can rate the skills necessary to achieve success in the position and how the person fits within the company," Cottrell said.
"Once you have weighed and scored the importance of those skills you can create a job benchmark template. You then can overlay how the candidate's skills relate, match it to the template, and determine the probability of job success."
Cottrell says this process has a nearly 100% accuracy rate. "We use it in our own and client businesses and have found it to be on target each and every time. It can really help a business scale efficiently and profitably."
