Dr. Vincent Antonin Reginald Camara received a First Prize German Language Award at a national competition in Senegal, which was presented to him by the president of the Republic of Senegal in 1980.

Dr. Camara is a statistician, researcher and educator who celebrates more than 35 years in his field. Teaching mathematics and statistics at Saint Leo University since 2001, he is also the current director and mathematics and statistics researcher at the Research Center for Bayesian Applications Inc. in Seminole, since 2014. Aligned with the nonprofit organization since 2003, he is responsible for conducting research in mathematical statistic and data analysis. First acquired as an associate director, Dr. Camara provided just over 11 years in his role before being promoted. Prior to his current roles, he held teaching appointments at the University of South Florida in Tampa and the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
An expert in constructing efficient and closed form statistical models, Dr. Camara has served as a presenter on numerous occasions in his area of expertise. A seasoned researcher, much of his work has also been published and used throughout the engineering industry and every area of science. As a result of his research, he has contributed multiple articles to scholarly journals. Dr. Camara also authored the book "New and Efficient Approach and Closed-Form Confidence Intervals for Parameters of Normal, Exponential and Gamma Distributions" and served on the editorial board for the Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods.
An alumnus of the University of Dakar in Senegal, Dr. Camara acquired a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1984 and a Master of Science in pure mathematics in 1986. Two years after relocating to the U.S., he received a Master of Science in applied mathematics at the University of North Florida in 1994 and a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics and option statistical at the University of South Florida in 1997. Affiliated with several industry-related organizations, Dr. Camara is currently active with the International Society for Bayesian Analysis and the American Statistical Association. He is a former member of the Society for Risk Analysis.
