MIDLAND, MI, January 24, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ronald Martin Lacher, PE, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Lacher celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Realizing his early proficiency in mathematics and physics during his studies in high school, Mr. Lacher decided upon engineering as a career path because it was a combination of his interests. He received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science, both in chemical engineering, from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, in 1972 and 1977, respectively. Upon receiving his master's degree, he joined the staff of Dow Chemical Co. as a research engineer. Holding the role for two years, he was promoted to the role of a market development production supervisor in 1979 and an environmental specialist in 1982. Following these appointments, Mr. Lacher held the role of a process design engineer between 1986 and 2009, after which he began serving as a contract and consultant process design engineer until his retirement in 2014.

A past 40-year member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Mr. Lacher served to the rank of a lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve for three years until his honorable discharge in 1975. He has also held a professional engineer certification for 30 years until its deactivation in 2009. Most notable for co-inventing a process for selective gas separation, Mr. Lacher is also an expert in multi-purpose batch process design, process simulation and physical property modeling.

Among the highlights of his career, Mr. Lacher is perhaps most proud to have served as the lead processing engineer on two pharmaceutical projects. A large-scale pharmaceutical process that eventually became a multi-product pharmaceutical plant, he notes that it was a $45 million project back in 1992. Married to his wife Jane Marieze Wall Lacher for many happy years, Mr. Lacher intends to continue enjoying his retirement in the coming years.
