Mitty, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Mitty celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Having practiced medicine for over 55 years before his retirement, Dr. Mitty distinguished himself as a diagnostic radiologist and professor of radiology on behalf of Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Receiving a Bachelor of Science in biology at Queens College in 1954, Dr. Mitty subsequently earned a Doctor of Medicine at State University of New York in 1958. Following these achievements, he served in the U.S. Navy between 1959 and 1961. Additional educational pursuits to his credit included an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital, residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and a second residency in radiology at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Mitty is a board-certified radiologist since 1966 and holds a certificate of additional qualification in diagnostic and interventional radiology since 1995.

An elected fellow of the American College of Radiology and fellow and founding member of the Society of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Mitty is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society and the Radiologic Society of North America. Recognized for his achievements, Dr. Mitty received a Gold Medal from the Society of Interventional Radiology and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Uroradiology Society. He was also honored with a Teaching Award from the State University College of Medicine and a Jacobi Award from Mount Sinai Hospital.
