Throughout the length of his professional journey, he has not only maintained his firm, but worked in numerous other roles, including as the dean of the school of accounting at Armstrong College, as the chief executive officer for several businesses and, for much of his career, as a senior mergers and acquisitions advisor for Citigroup Global Investment Bank in Irvine between 1987 and 2005. Further, Dr. Hermann has served as the managing director for Generational Equity LLC in Dallas since 2005, a company that specializes in mergers and acquisitions throughout North America.
Among his various roles, Dr. Hermann has chaired several organizations, including Wall Street Capital Management and J.R. Hermann Productions, Inc. He also served as the president of Nova Images, Inc., an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association in San Francisco, a consultant for numerous business and a lecturer at numerous financial seminars for various organizations since 1984. A contributor of numerous articles to various professional journals on the topic of financial planning and a former columnist for Outlook Magazine, Dr. Hermann has published several books as well. In 1984, he released "Adding Financial Planning to Your Practice," which followed with "Case Studies in Financial Planning" in 1985, "Accountant's Guide to Financial and Estate Planning for Business Owners" in 1990 and "Wealth Building Strategies" in 1991.
Dr. Hermann served his country by becoming a Green Beret in the U.S. Army Special Forces. During his military career he notably served as a Sergeant First Class, after which he received a direct commission to the rank of Captain. He was also a U.S. Army qualified Master Parachutist, Jumpmaster, Pathfinder, Drill Sergeant and Recruiter. Dr. Hermann was recognized as an expert in both the rifle and the pistol.
Educated in California, Dr. Hermann received a Bachelor of Arts at San Francisco State University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of California's Hastings College of Law. He likewise attained a Doctor of Philosophy at American University in London. He has been admitted to practice by the California Bar Association, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. Additionally, Dr. Hermann is a certified public accountant, certified financial planner and licensed real estate broker in the state of California.
Dr. Hermann remains a member of Mensa, the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been included in the 24th and 25th editions of Who's Who in the West and the 27th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
